GETTING TO THE ISLAND

Just off the coast of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard is most easily reached year round via ferry with ports in the towns of Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, or flights directly onto the island.

It is important to note that early October is the end of the high season on the Vineyard, both flights and ferries will likely sell out, so please make travel plans promptly.

AIR

Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY) is centrally located in the middle of the island. In early October, there are direct flights to and from multiple east coast cities, including Boston, New York and Washington D.C.

FERRY

The Steamship Authority Ferry is a popular way to access the island from Wood's Hole, MA for passengers traveling with or without vehicles. If you plan to have a car on the island, we recommend renting in Boston and taking the ferry, or taking the ferry as a passenger and renting a car on-island. Car reservations on the ferry do fill up, so please book promptly if you plan to bring a vehicle over. No reservations are needed for passenger only tickets.

For those not planning to bring their car over, the easiest way to get to your hotel or rental from the ferry is by Uber or cabs that are available at the ferry terminals.
